Skiing Holidays in Spain
There's some great skiing and snowboarding resorts even without the extensive range of lifts and pistes found in the Alps. The ski resorts are very charming on the whole and ski holidays in Spain have a unique selling point - the beach! Many ski resorts in Spain have excellent facilities for beginners, making this the perfect destination if you want to build up your confidence on the slopes. There is also plenty of choice for the more experienced skier too.
The two main skiing areas are the Pyrenees in the north and the Internationally recognised Sierra Nevada further south in Andalucia. One of the largest and best ski resorts in Spain is Baqueira-Beret, whilst other resorts are more low-key and less crowded. After a day on the slopes, you can enjoy typically Spanish food and entertainment that is relaxed, friendly and cheap. As always, Spain offers a good choice of quality hotels and self-catering apartments.
