Linked to La Molina and close to the French and Andorran borders,  Masella offers skiing and boarding in spectacular scenery and all available only 90 minutes from Barcelona. Ski weekends here are a real possibility.

Where

Masella is located on the northern slope of Tosa d'Alp overlooking the Cerdanya valley. The nearest airport is Barcelona which is only 90 minutes away. The drive from Barcelona is also really easy on fast toll roads which take you through the Serradel Cadi mountain range. It sits on the border with France and Andorra, so the views from the mountain tops are truly amazing!

On the slopes

Masella is set amidst a dense pine forest, so with 80% of the slopes in the forest snow quality and quantity normally remains very high throughout the season. 90% of the trails also face north ensuring a good snow season into April. Masella offers skiing and boarding for all abilities but is particularly good for beginners and intermediates with 24 blue and 22 red runs. One run worth doing is the uninterrupted descent, 935m, from the summit of La Tosa to the Pla de Masella. The ski pass that links this resort to La Molina, the Alp 2500, creates  a total skiable area of 133km, so no chance to get bored here!

Off the slopes

Apart from a few bars, shops and cafes this is not a traditional style village resort. The nearest village is 7km away called Alp.In the surrounding area you will find a disco, bars, restaurants, a swimming pool, sports centre and a creche.
