Where

Located in the Northeast corner of the Austrian state of Tryol, ski Brixen im Thale as virtually the centre of the 8 ski villages in the Ski Welt ski area. The ski resort is connected by train and bus routes from Munich airport, along with just over an hours transfer from Innsbruck or Salzburg airports.

On the slopes

However, venture away from the local slopes and into the SkiWelt and there are plenty of slopes - in fact around 250km of runs! Everyone will find the resort slopes to be enjoyable with 122km for beginning skiers, 108km for advanced skiers, and 20km of pistes for expert skiers - not to mention the off piste.

Connected via 94 ski lifts it is easy to move between terrains and travel around the mountain side. There are also many other cross country trails along with many off piste slopes for those who book a ski guide. Snowboarders also enjoy the areas slopes with a vertical drop of 1,100m and a snowpark within the immediate ski resort area.

Off the slopes

At night there is plenty to do in Brixen im Thale given that a ski bus service runs between Brixen and the other eight ski resort villages that make up the SkiWelt. Thus, there are numerous nightclubs, restaurants, bars, pubs, and local shops to explore during a stay here. Lots of people actually head to Brixen in order to take advantage of the Tyrolean cuisine on offer.

Additionally, there is also a casino at the resort which can provide an alternative holiday activity for those who are so inclined. Alternatively, those looking for more family friendly activities may enjoy hiking, curling, tobogganing, ice skating, and sleigh rides as well as indoor swimming and tennis for those who want to warm up from a day at out at the slopes. There's also many historical sites worth checking out including the Pfarrakirche Maria Himmelfahrt Church from the 8th century.
