However, with 193 kms of slopes available, plus some off-piste opportunities, experts will find plenty to challenge them. Once you reach the mid-mountain station of Espiolets, you'll find lifts taking you towards either Pas, or down the valley to Canillo.
Ski area :
If you ski Soldeu, you are also in the ski region of Grandvalira along with the following resorts; Andorra La Vella, Canillo, El Tarter, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa, Soldeu
.
Off the slopes
The main street of the Soldeu ski resort is busy throughout the season, lined with shops, bars and restaurants of every type. Popular places to eat include Cort de Popaire for steaks, La Fontanella in the Hotel Piolets, for pizza and pasta, or La Llar del Artesa, where you can sample local Catalan mountain dishes. Aprés ski is vibrant - check out the Ice Berg, Avalanche, or Fat Albert's, a huge bar where you'll find some great live music.
WE LIKE
- Excellent venue for beginners and intermediates
- Good selection of reasonably priced restaurants
- Cheap heli-skiing if you want some pristine powder away from the pistes
|
WE DON'T LIKE
- Not much to do off slopes and a trek to get to a big town
- Not ideal for experts on piste - but plenty off stuff off piste
- Lift queues can be bad at busy sunny weekends
