Off the slopes

Arinsal is a quiet town in the Vallnord ski area, though it can get quite lively in the evening. The compact centre makes it easy to get around between the restaurants and bars. You'll find a number of traditional restaurants serving fresh seafood, and the bars are relaxed and friendly, with drinks very reasonably priced. Nearby Andorra La Vella is a tax free shopping haven, with the spa at Caldea well worth a visit.

WE LIKE

  • Linked to Pal with it's tree-lined slopes making the ski area much larger
  • If you need lessons, the ski schools have quite a few British instructors. Cheap skiing and even cheaper duty free.
  • Quite a young vibrant scene with some great lively bars

WE DON'T LIKE

  • The resort is a little confined and the local slopes are not the best in the Pyrenees
  • If you want to ski back to the village, you need good snow conditions
  • Long, linear and rather dour village with never ending contruction it seems
