In terms of altitude, Les 2 Alpes is one of the highest skiing areas in Europe, which means a great snow record, along with stunning scenery, a large glacier, and skiing to suit all abilities. There are 225km of pistes which can be easily reached from the village via the network of 51 lifts.
In Les 2 Alpes beginners can ski on wide village runs, or try the easy glacier slopes, while intermediate skiers have a wide choice of blue and red runs, and experts have the opportunity to experience the renowned off piste runs at 'La Grave'. Percentage wise the runs are divided up into 20% green, 40% blue, 21% red, 19% black. There are packages available for ski schools and tuition via tour operators, with special ski schools/childcare for younger children.
But the fun doesn't end there, as the resort is also excellent for snowboarding and has hosted the World Cup on several occasions. There is steep/deep terrain for the experienced boarders, and gentle areas for beginners. All these and 20km of cross country skiing make this a resort full of possibilities for winter sports.
Les 2 Alpes has a variety of family friendly activities, along with a lively nightlife for adults, and a choice of accommodation, shops, and restaurants. To add more variety, some lift passes include entry to the local ice skating rink and outdoor pool, or a days skiing in some of the neighbouring ski areas, such as Serre Chevalier.
In terms of reaching the resorts, flights from the U.K take 1 to 2 hours, and arrive from around 12 airports in either Chambéry or Grenoble. Transfers to resort takes 2 hours 30 mins from Chambéry, and 2 hours 15 mins from Grenoble. It's also possible to take a ski train from Paris which will also take around 2 hours. The area is renowned, but will you be talking about it in years to come? There's only one way to find out, so why not book now.
