Ski Vemdalen

This winter, ski Vemdalen for some excellent intermediate and beginner skiing & snowboarding pistes 500km north of Stockholm. Just one of the reasons this is considered one of the top resorts for ski holidays in Sweden.

Where

Located in a tri-pod of connected snow resorts, ski Vemdalen ski resort and you will get a whole slopes and some great off-piste activities. With close proximity to two other prominent resorts of Sweden, also run by SkiStar, you also get access via Trondheim or further afield Stockholm.

On the slopes

Vemdalen ski resort is a premier ski centre in Sweden because of its 58 runs the majority of which are beginner and intermediate runs. Perfect for those who are just beginning to learn how to ski, Vemdalen is the perfect location.

Advanced skiers may not find as many challenges when they ski Vemdalen but since the resort is also linked to Bjornrike and Klövsjö there are plenty of other options for the same price tag. It's also a great place for snowboarders as they are welcome on most slopes and a snow park just for their use.

In fact a free helmet is given to children who take snowboarding lessons while on holiday. There are 60 lifts and 30 gondolas to help you get around the slopes and easily get from one resort to the other. Of course, for those who enjoy travelling via skis the 180km of cross country skill trails are also a great way to explore.

Off the slopes

Given the fact that the Vemdalen ski resort is so expansive there are plenty of nearby villages to explore and relax at after you are done skiing for the day if you would rather skip the night skiing for a nightcap. There are plenty of bars, night clubs, and live entertainment throughout the area but for the best après ski you will have the best crowds on the weekends.

The food served at the many restaurants is known for its rich taste and the service is rated excellent as well. Plus, the price on alcohol is considerably lower, compared to other ski resorts. There are many other activities in resort that you may want to check out as well during your holiday such as ice fishing, dog sledge rides, and snowmobile safaris.
