Ski The Lecht and you're 2090 feet above sea level, amid the beauty of the Eastern Cairngorms. Often with good early season snow, the 20 slopes offer some great skiing & snowboarding in Scotland's highlands.

Where

You'll find that if you want to ski The Lecht it's accessible from Speyside and Aviemore, Donside and Aberdeen, Royal Deeside and Perth. The resort sits on the A939, the famous Cockbridge to Tomintoul road, and has both winter and summer holiday seasons. However, it can be hard to get to in wintry weather - so 4x4 is best on the roads! Access form airports is however simple if the roads are clear.

On the slopes

What will you find when you ski The Lecht? There's both skiing and snowboarding, and a chairlift rising to 2,500 ft. The mix of slopes includes 5 green slopes (easy), 9 blue slopes (intermediate), 5 red slopes (difficult) and one black slope (very difficult). These are serviced by 4 easy-to-use beginners tows, 3 intermediate Poma tows to varied slopes, and 3 advanced Poma tows to more challenging runs. Skiing and snowboarding pistes are good - although bitterly cold if the wind gets up.

Off the slopes

There is a wide variety of accommodation in the area including a small, 4-star country house hotel in Glenlivet, around 15 miles from The Lecht, a small family run hotel close to the slopes, and a variety of other hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and self catering cottages. Aside from skiing and boarding, you can enjoy Quad Bikes, Fun Karts, Kiddies Karts, Deval Karts and Tubing.
