Access is easy and makes a ski holiday in Norway a definite for you to try this winter. WhereIf you ski Valdres you will be on the side of a sunny mountain just two hours north of Oslo. This resort is best suited to beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders and has 4 ski lifts and 11 runs of all difficulty levels, and some excellent faculties for children. Access is realtively easy from the airport - and there are buses and trains also. On the slopesSki Valdres and you get lots of features for snowboarders and freestylers as there is a terrain park and a half pipe - Valdres has a reputation for telemark and some of the best snowboarding terrain in Norway! With 45% of the slopes designated for beginners and a further 20% intermediate, this is a good place to learn, though it doesn't offer much for advanced skiers. It's also great for kids, with a designated children's ski lift and a free "magic carpet"/conveyor belt for little ones. So skiing and snowboarding in Norway should be one to consider next winter! Off the slopesYou'll find there's some great ski-in ski-out accommodation right at the summit of the Valdres ski resort. You also get some good choices for lunch and dinner in restaurants around the resort - and some good bars and hotel bars for drinks. Ski rental is readily available, and there are also 150km (94 miles) of cross country ski trails in the area. Additional winter sports include ice skating and dog sledding.
