On the slopes
Ski La Rosière and you will get plenty of snow - this resort has a reputation for having the most snow in the Savoie so ski holidays are usually fantastic. With an International playground thanks to the L'Espace San Bernardo links to La Thuile, there are plenty of wide-open slopes suited to both beginners and intermediates, and good nursery slopes near the village.
More advanced skiers should head to the top half of La Rosiere mountain for some steep interesting runs. Novice boarders will be right at home, while there is also a terrain park.

Off the slopes
Restaurant choices are good - a favourite lunchtime spot is restaurant L'Ancolie, which has a terrace with breathtaking views across the valley towards Les Arcs. Popular choices in town include Le Turia, Le Genepi and Le Plein Soleil, between them you'll find a wide selection of food choices. There is quote a large choice of après ski activities and night life is friendly, if not spectacular - check La Rosiere, Le P'tit Relais and Le Petit Danois. Late night options include the more refined Clay's piano bar, or the livelier Le Pub.
WE LIKE
- Attractive, friendly, purpose-built resort with glorious views
- Fair-sized area of slopes shared with La Thuile in Italy
- Heli-skiing over the border in Italy and freedom to pass borders
|
WE DON'T LIKE
- Winds can close lift links with Italy and snow is affected by the sun in late season
- Very little buzzing nightlife - more a family resort maybe
- Few on-piste challenges for experts
