If you ski Stoneham you are in a small resort nestled in the Laurentian Mountains 25kms north of Québec City. This is a great ski resort to learn to ski in. It's easy to reach - you can take a taxi from Québec City's Jean Lesage International Airport - and the 30 runs and three terrain parks offer something for everyone. You are also close to Le Massif and Mont-Saint-Anne if you want some expert challenges.
On the slopes
Ski Stoneham to get 39 runs spread over four mountains. The slopes are divided into 25% beginners, 23% intermediates and 35% per cent for advanced. There is a longest run of 3.2kms. Boarders will love the three terrain parks, which include a super-pipe, a half-pipe, and plenty of rails and table-tops. The 10 lifts are capable of transporting over 14,000 people per hour. Skiing and snowboarding here is great with the almost guaranteed snow - with close by resorts for more variation if you need it.
Off the slopes
Stoneham has a small amount of condos and hotels offering ski-in/ski-out lodging, but for real choice you head for Québec City. Not only will you have a superb choice of accommodation, but you'll also find a far livelier après-ski scene - Stoneham has a distinctly modest four restaurants and two bars. If you stay in Québec City you can also ski at nearby Mont-Sainte-Anne, which makes a great alternative to Stoneham.
