Ski Mont-Sainte-Anne and you are close to the French-Canadian city of Québec. With 65 ski slopes, plus over 200km of cross country trails there's great terrain close to a major City - in fact about a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Quebec City. With a mix of European and North American atmospheres you can enjoy a unique winter experience, and though the resort is small, it has a comprehensive range of services. Easy access via the Quebec airport and public transport - so you don't have to have a car!
On the slopes
Intermediates and Advanced will love skiing Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort - with around 60% of the slopes just for them! Beginners are also well catered for and the ski schools are well recommended. Finally even experts will like the 15% runs including some great off-piste challenges but the longest run is only 2kms. 12 lifts transport up to 18,500 people per hour to keep things moving. If you like cross-country this is the resort for you - there are 223kms of groomed cross-country skiing trails, and a further 125kms of cross-country skating trails.
Off the slopes
In Mont Sainte Anne there's a good variety of accommodation including hotels, bed-and-breakfasts, and apartments. Restaurant choices are good too, with around 30 to choose from, offering everything from pizza to haute cuisine. Après-ski is provided by a small array of bars, though for something really lively you'll need to head to the nearby city of Québec.
Away from the slopes, other activities include bowling, snowshoeing, dog-sledding, ice-skating, skidooing, snowmobiling and paragliding.
