Ski Revelstoke

Ski Revelstoke if you love heli-skiing! With some of the most dramatic skiing and snowboarding in Canada, this almost brand new ski resort promises almost every type of snow and terrain you can ask for.

Where

If you want to ski Revelstoke and you're not a heli-skier - you now have a bespoke ski resort built in 2007/8 offering excellent skiing and snowboarding facilities. With access to a total of half a million acres of terrain on Mount Mackenzie, champagne powder is regular. Access is a bit of a pain for a week, with either a 5 hour drive from Calgary or if you get an internal flight to Kelowna you still have a two and a half hour drive / bus to get into resort.

On the slopes

Ski Revelstoke for North America's highest vertical drop - 1829m (6,000ft). A $22 million eight-person gondola and a high-speed quad provide access to high alpine bowls, and you'll also find beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain with a vertical drop of 1440m - and some of the world's most exciting skiing or snowboarding. Off the slopes

WE LIKE

  • Intermediates and Experts will really love this resort - with some amazing runs and fast lifts. It boasts North Americas greatest vertical at 1.1713m!
  • Around 12m of snow every seaon - with a lot of powder and cold weather!
  • Only resort to offer lift, heli and backcountry skiing from 1 base. Uncrowded, each rider has 1.5 acres of mountain to themselves!

WE DON'T LIKE

  • The transfer - it's 5 hours from Calgary or 2.5 hours from Kelowna after an internal flight!
  • Not the best resort for families and beginners as it caters for more advanced - but it is still good
  • They are developing this into a world leading resort - get in now before it gets too busy!
