Ski Mount Washington to access a resort that offers some great snow conditions on Vancouver Island. With skiing & snowboarding in Canada on the up, there's plenty of good snow here and lots of varied terrain for boarders too.
Where
If you ski Mount Washington you are on Vancouver Island in the Comox Valley. With some spectacular views, there's much to like about this resort. Fairly close to Vancouver, transfers from the International airport are relatively painless - which makes a change. So you can choose either taxi or car - fly drive is always a good option in North America.
On the slopes
If you ski Mount Washington ski resort you will get lots of snow throughout the season and over 75km of pistes to play on. Whether you're a beginner (11 slopes) or an expert (10 slopes) the variation across the resort offers challenges for all levels. The snow here each year becomes deep, over 10m which makes this a mecca as a snow-sure location.
You can use the Bradley Centre (one of th egreat features of Mount Washington Alpine Resort) that offers ski rentals, snow schools and child care. The 9 lifts serve 60 trails, with a vertical drop of around 500m. Intermediates will find they have the most terrain and advanced skiers will enjoy the double black runs.
Off the slopes
Once you've finished your days skiing - you'll find a lot of folks heading back to the big smoke - it's that close. However, this Alpine resort has lodges with great restaurants, bars, rentals, snow school and a village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation for more than 4,000 people.
As with many resorts there are a range of other winter sports and activities you can choose including cross country skiing, snowshoeing and ice skating.
