Ski Grouse Mountain

Ski Grouse Mountain and you're less than 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver. Read our guides for skiing & snowboarding in Canada and book yourself a fantastic winter wonderland with powder and big snow.

Where

For sheer convenience, ski Grouse Mountain as one of the most accessible ski resorts in Canada. Just 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, your ski holiday begins with a 1.6 km aerial journey on the Skyride, the largest tram system in North America. On the mountain you'll find 25 slopes and 3 snow parks to keep skiers and boarders busy. Transfer is, needless to say, simple and stress free.

On the slopes

Ski Grouse Mountain and find yourself in Vancouver's premier four-season destination - indeed, it is the most visited attraction in the city. The 26 slopes are divided between across all levels, but the longest run is only 1km which is a little limiting. The highest lift rises to 1250m, offering stunning views of the Lower Mainland. And with 3 snow parks, boarders will find plenty to keep them happy. Snow is excellent thanks to it's location - despite lower pistes than some other resorts.

Off the slopes

As Grouse Mountain is located just 15 minutes from Vancouver's downtown, you can stay in the city and enjoy all the amenities of the city - that means a great selection of places to stay, and big city night life. There's also a great range of activities when you fancy a break from skiing.

WE LIKE

  • Snow is suprisingly good for a low altitude resort, good snow making facilities
  • Families well catered for and boarders to with 3 terrain parks
  • Only a 20 minute drive to Vancouver, opens up restaurants, bars, shooping and more

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Runs are too short - so intermediates and above will get frustrated. Main green run gets very crowded
  • Can get really busy as people come out of town for a few hours for a bit of skiing
  • Lifts not able to cope with busy perdios so you get loads of waiting time
