Snowbird is a ski centre that provides top of the line leisure, ski and health facilities. The area boasts an incredible record for snow fall and its sister resort is the high altitude resort of Zermatt in Switzerland. Only a mile away you will find Alta, which is another renowned Utah ski area.

On the Slopes

This American ski resort offers direct access to 11 ski lifts that service 100 individual pistes. The ski resort sits at an altitude of 1500 m and it is possible to board and ski back to the resort. The pistes are at an elevation above 2500 m which ensures skiing and boarding is possible throughout the season on plenty of light and dry powder. The lifts can carry up to 16,000 ski or board enthusiasts per hour. Lessons are available for beginners on the nursery slope next to the Cliff Lodge and the Chickadee double chair takes beginner skiers to the only beginner terrain. The rest of the skiing takes place on Hidden Peak and in the Gad Valley, Peruvian Gulch and Mineral Basin. Intermediate level skiers can access more than 30 descents including the Chips Run and the Bassackwards. Advanced skiers can take the Aerial tram to the top of more than 6 double black diamond runs. Silver Fox, Upper Cirque, and Great Scott are some of the steepest runs. Almost all of these runs are enhanced by the powder. You can night ski for free on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday. Snowbird’s mountain school offers lesson programs for all ages and levels of skiers. Boarders are thrilled with the terrain and the terrain park with several challenging features.

Off the Slopes

Visitors can choose to relax in a sophisticated way or in a more laid back manner at Snowbird. When not skiing, guests may enjoy tubing, ice skating, swimming in the pool at the resort, going to the lounges, bars or restaurants or taking a visit to Salt Lake City. The Tram Club features regular Jazz performances from international artists and DJ music. If you enjoy pool, you will like the Wildflower Lounge to hangout by the fireplace.
