Ski Veysonnaz

Ski Veysonnaz is probably the most attractive of the 4 Valleys ski resorts. If you are skiing and snowboarding in Switzerland, then is ideal for families or people that don't want Verbier's nightlife.

Where

Part of Switzerland's Four Valleys area, ski Veysonnaz ski resort offers access to Mont-Fort, the highest peak of the Four Valleys at 3,300m - combined, the resorts in this group offer over 412 km of piste. Reached by a winding 13km road from Sion, Veysonnaz is used as a training base by the Swiss national ski team. Access from the airport is easy, with the road network good too.

On the slopes

Part of the Four Valleys circuit, ski Veysonnaz ski resort can access 412km of slopes - enough to keep the Swiss ski team happy when they train here. There is a new eight-person gondola to whisk you up to the mid-station, and you can also access Veysonnaz' own ski area from a second base area 3km away by road at Mayen-de-L'Ours. There's a bus service to connect the two areas. So from the guaranteed snow to the off piste conditions - one to consider.

Ski area :

If you ski Veysonnaz you are also in the Swiss ski region of Valais and the ski area of Four Valleys along with the following resorts; La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Verbier, Veysonnaz .

Off the slopes

After a days skiing, après-ski in Veysonnaz is good - if a little quieter than it's neighbour Verbier. From informal cafés through to livelier bars, there's a good range if you want it. For non-skiers there are also a good range of activities - so you won't be bored if you're off the slopes - especially when you can bus it to Verbier or Nendaz too.

RESORT GOOD POINTS

  • Amazing selection of on and off-piste skiing and boarding throughout 4 valleys region
  • Pistes not crowded and are well groomed - great for intermediates
  • New high speed 8 man lift has reduced waiting times

RESORT BAD POINTS

  • Large number of T-Bars - but there are also new chair lifts
  • Becoming evermore popular - but still a great place for a family holiday
  • Not the livliest nightlife around - but then that's why it is great for families or those that want a quiet skiing holiday!
