WE LIKE

  • Spectacular setting amid 13 peaks over 4000m and glaciers, beautiful car free village, a cheap alternative to Zermatt
  • Most of the runs are at exceptionally high altitude and are snow-sure
  • Good off-slope facilities - even a mountain for non-skiing activities, great for families

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Suprisingly small number of expert slopes, with mainly easy to intermediate runs
  • Queues on Alpin Express in morning are bad betwen 8.45 and 9.30 - after that there's quick access right up to Glacier heights
  • In midwinter, much of the area is in shadow, making for a cold day unless you wrap up really warm!
