On the slopes
An intermediate skier's dream, ski Lenzerheide for snowboarding and skiing at all levels. Lenzerheide and Valbella share 155kms of groomed slopes, with some lovely steep, gladed slopes on both sides of a wooded valley. The longest run measures an impressive 11kms. This is also a great place to learn, with 46 per cent of the slopes rated for beginners. Though not a first choice for experts, there are still over 20kms of advanced runs.
Ski area :
If you ski Lenzerheide you are in the Swiss ski region of Graubünden.
Off the slopes
Lenzerheide is a charming old town, while across the lake is the sleepy village of Valbella. You'll find a number of restaurants in town, serving both local and international choices, but don't expect a spectacular après-ski scene. Services include a museum, shops and a public library, while for those with young children there are kindergartens and special ski classes. Other activities include cross-country skiing (over 50km of cross country tracks), curling, tobogganing, and an indoor swimming pool.
RESORT GOOD POINTS
- Lenzerheide is a superb ski area - suitable for everyone - and all levels
- 52 km of cross-country runs freshly prepared each day
- Welcome families and non-skiers with a spa, sports centre and traditional winter pursuits
|
RESORT BAD POINTS
- Not for the wild party types as more a quiet family resort
- Most skiers and boarders overlook Lenzerheide as a destination - which is daft!
- Very little tricky or challenging terrain for experts - but everything else is brilliant!!
