Ski Villars

Ski Villars for a great family destination, lots of sun and for great skiing and snowboarding in Switzerland. Add the facilities and the traditional Swiss ambience and this could be perfect!

Where

Ski Villars for a Swiss winter treat. Your ski holidays in Villars will offer a largely sunny location blessed with good snow and a gorgeous location. Villars is linked to Les Diablerets to form one ski area - the massive Villars-Gryon-Diablerets-Glacier3000, with over 120km of piste in total. Access is via Geneva airport, from where you can pick up a transfer or hire a car.

On the slopes

Perfect for families, ski holidays in Villars offer some great nursery slopes, the best of which are near the mountain railway. There's plenty of cruising for intermediates - try the area around Le Mazot - while experts should head for the challenge of the Combe d'Audon run. Boarders will love the snowpark in Villars-Bretaye, which offers hips, rails, jumps, a DJ bar and terrace, whilst elsewhere you'll find 4 more snowparks at Glacier, Diablerets, Villars, and Gryon.

Ski area :

If you ski Villars you are in the Swiss ski region of Vaud.

Off the slopes

With 4,800 beds in the local hotels, rental apartments and traditional chalets, you'll find plenty of good choice of accommodation around this Swiss ski resort. Evenings tend to be fairly calm - this is a place that offers more in the way of good food and romantic evenings than it does late night carousing. However, there are a handful of bars and discos to keep the partygoers happy until the early hours of the morning.

WE LIKE

  • Pleasant, relaxing year-round resort thanks to the Glacier which has a range of Blue's at the top
  • Fairly extensive intermediate slopes linked to Les Diablerets
  • Good nursery slopes for beginners - but make sure you stay close to the main lifts

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Unreliable snow-cover sometimes - although the higher you go you will find better conditions
  • Overcrowded mountain restaurants and pistes at peak periods
  • Short runs on the upper slopes - with a max long run of around 5km
