On the slopes

Ski Engelberg for the great options for skiers and boarders alike. In fact, boarders are well catered for with a Boardpark and Quarter-pipe at Jochpass, powder and great terrain at Alpstublii and Laub, and some great guided off-piste. Advanced and intermediate skiers will enjoy the long runs of the Titlis area, and excellent off-piste skiing on the Laub. For families and beginners, Brünni has some lovely gentle runs, and there's even night skiing if you fancy something different.

Ski area :

If you ski Engelberg you are in the Swiss ski region of Central Switzerland.

Off the slopes

A picturesque village at the head of a valley, Engleberg's traffic free centre is stocked with restaurants, pavement cafés and shops. Après-ski options include numerous bars and pubs, including the Yucatan Music Bar, the Eden Bar, the Spindle and Terrasse. Other activities include a fantastic 3.5km toboggan run, a "Wet'n Wild" snow amusement park, an indoor swimming pool, and the famous revolving cable car, which will whisk you up to the peak of Mt. Titlis.

RESORT GOOD POINTS

  • 110km from Zurich so excellent for ski weekends late into May!
  • Has one of the biggest vertical descents in the world at 2000m
  • Snow is excellent all season - with North Facing pistes and high altitude

RESORT BAD POINTS

  • Skiing is unfortunately split between 2 areas
  • Not a great choice of pistes for beginners, but adequate
  • Cold means cold - but provided you keep some thermals for the windy bitter days - what's to worry?
