Ski Adelboden for one of the most well known resorts in Switzerland. A wonderful place for families, it has plenty of beginner slopes and a great ski school for children. Skiing & snowboarding here is fabulous.
Where
Choose to ski Adelboden and you will be located in a semi quiet town as your ski resort. Adelboden is perfect for a quiet village trip with an un-franchised Swiss ski lodge. Actually in Gstaad, the Adelbonden ski resort is found at the bottom of the Wildstrübel mountain which is where most of the slopes are located although there are three different domains that make up the area some accessible direct from the village and others by bus. Rustic chalets surrounding the resort there and few other resorts in Switzerland hold as much charm.

On the slopes
With over 200km spanning 70+ slopes, ski Adelboden and there's an excess of good slopes to choose from if you are a beginner or intermediate skier. There is also a ski school for those who need instruction on the slopes. The one slight downer is the lack of slopes for expert skiers, so if you are looking for a challenge the Adelboden ski resort may not be the best location. With snowboarding slopes and a half pipe alongside the 29 lifts there is still plenty to check out along the mountain during the main ski season of December-April.
Ski area :
If you ski Adelboden, you are also in the Bernese Oberland and the ski area of Adelboden-Lenk along with the following resorts; Adelboden, Lenk
.
Off the slopes
Unlike other popular resorts in Switzerland, the Adelboden ski resort has kept its quiet natural village spirit although there are still some sights to see outside of bars and restaurants. The Adelboden Museum will teach you the history of the area with plenty of folklore stories to explain the life that exists among the locals in the valley. Also, if you are into scenic views you will not want to miss out on the Engstligen waterfalls which are the second largest waterfalls across all of Switzerland with a 600m drop.
For those looking for a bit more activity the local Disco is popular among the youths at the Adelboden resort as well as the Arte Bar which is known for its wines found in the middle of the village. Pool and other bar games can also be found at the Hotel Crystal bar.
