Ski Bled for a very small resort with 2 immediate slopes but access to 92 in the Bohinj ski area. Great for skiers and non-skiers, the extended variety of slopes are surrounded by authentic Slovenian architecture and cuisine.
Where
Located near the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, the Bled ski resort is about a 50 minute drive from the capital and is 35km from the Ljubljana International airport making it easy to drive into or fly into. Framed by the magnificent Julian Alps in the north-west of Slovenia, Bled is part of the alpine valley area of the Triglav national park which allows you access to other nearby ski resorts that offer 92 slopes and lots of cross country trails.
On the slopes
Ski Bled and you are in very close proximity to the Vogel, Straza, Kranjska Gora, and the Krvavec ski resorts, so if you hire a car you can easily explore the slopes of the entire Triglav national park area. For those who choose to stay in Bled, the slopes of the Straza area are the most accessible and frequently used with a peak of 600m.
However, there are only two slopes that are mostly used by ski schools so unless are a beginner you will want to take the bus over to Zatrnik which has 16km of slopes for intermediate and beginners. The highest peak in this area of the resort tops off at 1,200m and hosts a few black runs as well for those who are looking for a challenge. Additionally, the area around the Lake Bled area offers 21km of cross country trails through the Pokljuka plateau which offers plenty of scenic sites of the Lake and a great view of the Bled castler.

Off the slopes
Due to the stunning natural sights of the Bled ski resort area it is naturally a peaceful area but the nearby villages offer plenty of bar and restaurant choices which are all considered to be a great value when compared to UK standards. Additionally, there's also a casino, bowling alley, and a cinema for those who want to take in the sights of the area but are not skiers making it a wonderful holiday area with alternative activities. Non-skiers may also enjoy the swimming pool, carriage rides, tobogganing, and horseback rides.
