Ski Hemsedal and you may hear it called 'The Scandinavian Alps'. With some good skiing & snowboarding conditions, this ski resort in Norway offers good snow and a wide range of winter activities too - it's one of the largest resorts too.
Where
Ski Hemsedal and you are located in the Hallingdal Valley between Bergen and Oslo. Offering good skiing and snowboarding amongst spectacular scenery - the village is surrounded by rugged snow-covered peaks peaks. There are 34 pistes covering 36kms, served by a system of 17 lifts. The simplest way to reach the resort is by plane to Oslo, then bus to Hemsedal.
On the slopes
For a variety of skiing for all levels and tastes ski Hemsedal and actually you also have Solheisen Skisenter in Grondalen. Enjoy the 34 runs covering 36kms, with 12 green pistes, seven blue, nine red, and six black. The longest run covers six kilometres. Snowboarders will find a large terrain park to enjoy, while for beginners and children there are designated areas for children and beginners, a ski school, and plenty of wide, well-groomed pistes. There is also over 130kms of cross-country trails.
Off the slopes
There is a good variety of accommodation in Hemsedal, including hotels, a mountain lodge, a guesthouse, luxurious apartments, chalets and quiet, family-friendly cabins. The traditional village also has all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay - shops, post office, petrol station, pharmacy, and medical facilities. Après-ski centres around the area's restaurants and bars, and there is also a youth discotheque. You'll also find a great range of other activities to try, including paragliding, tobogganing, ice-climbing, dog-sledding, horse-drawn sleigh rides, paintball, and kite-skiing.
