Ski Hafjell and you get the largest Alpine facility in the Lillehammer area - being 15km north. With both downhill and cross-country skiing, why not be different this winter and go skiing & snowboarding in Norway.

Where

Ski Hafjell and find yourself just north of Lillehammer. Because of the latitude of the resort, snowfall is reliable even though the highest slope is only at 1030m. This resort was part of the Lillehammer Olympic Games in 1994, and you will find 11 lifts servicing 23 slopes, with 25 km of skiable terrain. Access is easy via Oslo airport as well as trains and buses.

On the slopes

With high mountain terrain above the tree line, ski Hofjell for spectacular views and slopes in forest terrain, sheltered from the wind and bad weather. The 25km of slopes include 31% for beginners, 52% intermediates, and 17% advanced, with a longest slope of 5km. Snowboarders are also catered for, with a snow park, Trollclub. There are also superb cross-country skiing facilities - over 300km of trails in total. Great skiing & snowboarding for all!

Off the slopes

The ski resort of Hafjell offers something for all ages. Although the après-ski scene isn't as lively as many European resorts, there are several bars and restaurants to keep you busy in the evenings; for younger visitors there is a child care centre, an activities programme, a ski school, and an events calendar.

WE LIKE

  • Slopes are best for intermediate skiers and snowboarders
  • Great atmosphere, welcoming locals and a great place to learn to ski or hone your technique
  • Transfer time from Oslo is only 2 hours making it easy on the stress levels

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Limited runs in resort - more adventurous will need to
  • Gets really cold in Jan to March - unsurprisingly!
  • Norway is more expensive to eat and drink out than the UK or even France
