On the slopes

Ski Norefjell for a really good mix of terrain with some stunning views as you come down the pistes. The resort has 13 lifts serving 23 slopes, with a total of 25kms of runs. These are divided well between the different grades - six green, nine blue, seven red, and three black and the longest run is a really good six kilometres. Cross-country skiers are particularly well-served, with over 120kms of marked cross-country trails, and endless off-piste trails through the mountains and woodlands. Skiing and snowboarding in Norway should not be discounted - especially if this is one of the resorts you consider.

Off the slopes

There are plenty of options for accommodation at Norefjell, ranging from first class hotels to mountain cabins, and including both slope-side and lake view options. The town has all the basic amenities you'll need, a grocery shop, childcare facilities and a petrol station. Après-ski entertainment is to be found in the restaurants, cafés, bars and discos in the town. Other activities available include mono-skiing, sleigh rides, indoor swimming, sauna, snowshoe hikes and dog teams.

WE LIKE

  • Good selection of slopes for all - particularly good for learning and families
  • Good snowboarding park and some good off piste too
  • Access from Oslo - under an hour on a good day - menas a night trip not out the question

WE DON'T LIKE

  • For a week - intermediates and experts may struggle not to get bored
  • Very cold in depths of winter - bring your thermals
  • Expensive night life options unfortunately
