Off the slopes

The traditional village also has all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay - shops, post office, petrol station, pharmacy, and medical facilities. Après-ski centres around the area's restaurants and bars, and there is also a youth discotheque. You'll also find a great range of other activities to try, including paragliding, tobogganing, ice-climbing, dog-sledding, horse-drawn sleigh rides, paintball, and kite-skiing.

WE LIKE

  • Great slopes for all abilities - very family friendly too
  • Snow sure from November to May - just about as long as you'll get anywhere
  • Some amazing - but dangerous off-piste

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Eating out and beerig is expensive - try £7 for a beer!!!
  • Lack of choice for eating out -look for catered chalets when you book!
  • Hemsedal does have a vibrant nightlife - but not excessivley rowdy
