On the slopes

When you ski Haukelifjell Skisenter, the base resort has an altitude of 850m which ensures great snowfall on well kept trails for freestyle skiers, cross country skiers, and snowboarders. Plenty of lifts and a wide range of skill level slopes make the ski resort a perfect location for anyone looking for a great place to holiday and ski.

With 13km of downhill slopes and 50km of cross country trails in Haukelifjell the slopes have enough pistes to keep you busy at the resort. Plus with a max vertical of 300m, skiers and snowboarders looking for a thrill will be satisfied. Although intermediate skiers will find the largest variety of slopes at the resort, beginners can make use of the simple children's lift and the many English speaking ski instructors. Evening skiing is available until at least 9pm with later hours during the peak ski season.

Off the slopes

There are accommodations for everyone at the Haukeli resort from hotels to cabins and the mountain lodges for those who want full amenities. There are many restaurants, bars, and cafes located around the ski resort, on the slopes, and throughout the local village. The après ski is lively throughout the week in the town and at the Haukelifijell resort with plenty of nightclubs and live music bars for those who want to get rid of some pent up energy off the slopes.

WE LIKE

  • Perfect for a first family ski holiday or to make the jump to intermediate
  • The village is so welcoming and the skiing (what there is) is excellent
  • This is a village with amazing scenery, wildlife and open skiing

WE DON'T LIKE

  • This is a small resort with only 11 runs - it won't suit everyone
  • Gets really really cold here between Jan and March - you have been warned
  • Transfer can be a bit of a pain and nearest resorts are 30km away
