On the slopes
Intermediate skiers will ski Gausdal and really enjoy the pistes. There's 9 lifts for the 20 pistes and a total of 363 metres of vertical descent. The slopes are divided into 30% beginners, 50% intermediate, and 20% advanced, and there is a terrain park and a half pipe for boarders. With snow cannons covering over half the pistes, snow coverage is usually good. Other resorts close by include Hafjell, Lillehammer, Kvitfjell and Valdres.
Off the slopes
Gausdal is a relatively small village - which has some definite advtanges and some disadvantages. Accommodation is available close to the piste, although a little limited. There are a few bars and restaurants - but not an endless choice. It's relatively quiet! Additional activities include 220km of cross-country trails and usual winter sports like tobogganing and ice skating.
