Ski Trafoi

Ski Trafoi and you're in the Ortler skiarena close to the Swiss & Austrian borders with over 120 slopes to enjoy. Great for families looking for a quiet location, you get varied ski & snowboard terrain with 30% for beginners.

Where

If you choose ski holidays in Trafoi am Ortler you are located deep in the Stelvio National Park. Here you are sharing the pleasure of two tiny Alpine Italian villages (Solda is the other) which between them have less than 500 inhabitants! The 10km of local piste are mostly suited for intermediates, but there are three other resorts close by, easily reached by shuttle bus. Access via Bolzano or Milan is relatively easy as is bus or train access.

Off the slopes

Eating is a pleasure, whether it's lunch at an elegant mountain restaurant, or in one of the many restaurants or bars in town. The various cafés, bars and discotheques provide a lively après-ski, so you can stay out as late as you want. Other activities include ice-skating, tobogganing and indoor swimming.

WE LIKE

  • Fantastic near 1000m descent in a small resort gives some nice challenges for all
  • Best for intermediates, quite a few families come here
  • Ortler skiarena gives skiing almost all year round with a lot of slopes above 2800 metres

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Very limited skiing/boarding for a weeks holiday
  • Very little to do off the slopes in this small traditional village
  • Size of village simply means less choice for food and bars - but a nice village regardless
