Ski Bardonecchia

Ski Bardonecchia for stunning mountain views and to experience skiing & snowboarding in Italy. With well-groomed pistes, this was home to some of the events in the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.

Where

If you ski Bardonecchia you are very close to the border with France. Skiing and snowboarding the Piemonte (Piedmont) skiing area offers three interlinked ski areas with 140km of marked piste. Turin is just a 90-minute train ride away, so access is quick and easy, and it's just a quick drive to both the Trois Vallées and the Milky Way area.

On the slopes

Ski holidays in Bardonecchia offer something for everyone. Beginners will enjoy convenient local nursery slopes in Melezet and Campo Smith and good blues runs at Colomion and Melezet. Intermediates will enjoy the many red runs, while experts will find 6 black slopes and plenty of guided off-piste skiing. Snowboarders will also enjoy it here - the pistes of Bardonecchia were chosen for many of the Olympic snowboard events, with lots of steep red and blue slopes.

Ski area :

If you ski Bardonecchia you are also in the ski region of Piemonte along with the following resorts; piemonte.

Off the slopes

Bardonecchia is a large town with lots of great eating options, a wide variety of accommodation, and lively après-ski. Just about everything you need is right there. If you fancy a day away from the slopes you can easily visit Turin, just 90 minutes away - however, the easy access from the city means the resort can get crowded at weekends. Overall this is a child-friendly resort with all the ambience you would expect from an Italian ski town.

WE LIKE

  • Long wide cruisy blues to help build confidence
  • High altitude skiing means long seasons and some amazing sunny days!
  • Good facilities and activities for non-skiers

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Extreme skiers and boarders may get bored of the local terrain
  • Town can get really busy at weekends with weekend skiers
  • Not an easy weekend break resort - Geneva is around 2 hours and Turin 90 mins away.
