Ski Piemonte, Italy

To ski Piemonte in Italy, a ski region that has the well known city of Turin at its heart, start with our guide. Some of the Piedmont region may already be familiar to you, as some of the resorts were venues in the 2006 Olympic Games, and have since been used in other international/world cup competitions. These resorts come under the 'Vialetta' or 'Milky Way' umbrella. There are numerous access points to the 400km of pistes in the Milky Way, including famous runs in Cesana-San Sicario and Sauze D'Oulx.

    Piemonte :

Included in this ski region are the following ski resorts : Bardonecchia, Valle di Susa

Ski Piemonte and this Piedmont region includes the resort of Bardonecchia, its six villages located in the Susa Valley. There are lifts on both sides of the resort, linked by ski bus so access to all the slopes is easy. Of the 100km of pistes runs, there are 20% easy runs and some confidence building blues, along with an excellent ski school.

Melezet and Campo Smith are especially good for beginners. Intermediates have a large percentage of blue and red runs to choose from, while the small number of black runs and off piste skiing will challenge and entertain the experts. There are no snow parks in this area, but experienced snowboarders will enjoy the wide open runs just as much as the skiers.

The mountains in the Canavese and Lanzo valleys are equally important for winter sports. They are part of the Grand Paradiso National Park, and offer many opportunities for cross country skiing, show shoeing, and guided ski tours amongt the stunning scenery. Pragelato is also good for cross country trails, with many of them located in the Val Troncea Park.

The villages and towns across Piedmont are a mix of modern/tourist orientated and quaint/traditional and the restaurants/bars/other facilities tend to follow suit. There is plenty to see and do here, on and off the slopes, and with an international airport at Turin, you can reach the ski area in less than 2 hours. All in all the perfect ingredients for a great ski holiday, wouldn't you agree?
