On the slopes
Intermediate cruisers will ski Clavière and most enjoy. Set in a quiet, wooded leg of the Milky Way ski area, beginners will find the nursery slopes rather steep, while advanced skiers will need to look elsewhere for their challenges. However, with over 300km of lift-linked runs in the domain, there are plenty of other options nearby with some superb off-piste as well as challenging pistes for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.
Ski area :
If you ski Clavière you are also in the ski region of Milky Way along with the following resorts; Claviere, Montgenèvre, Pragelato, San Sicario, Sauze d Oulx, Sestriere
.
Off the slopes
A charming blend of old and new, Clavière has just ten hotels, a few shops and restaurants. As you would expect, the nightlife is strictly limited. Popular spots include Il Gran Bouc, which serves gourmet meals and also has a bar, and Gallo Cedrone. People come here for the breathtaking scenery and the tranquillity. However, as with most Italian ski resorts, it offers great value, and the locals are very friendly.
WE LIKE
- Access to Milky Way and Montgenevre (10 min walk) to access over 300kms of piste
- Runs through tree lined pistes and good spread of difficulty
- Great value and accessible via Turin airport in 90 mins - so good for weekends too
|
WE DON'T LIKE
- A slightly limited number of slope for absolute beginners
- Few challenges for experts in immediate location - but plenty in Monterosa pistes
- Can get busy on weekends with locals getting some time on the pistes - but not unbearable
