On the slopes
Because ski holidays in Champoluc ski resort include access to all the resorts of the MonteRosa Ski Area, you will have access to a huge amount of slopes for all levels of ability. Intermediates will love the long, wide red runs, and advanced skiers will find that hiring a guide is well worth it - some of the best powder in Italy is off-piste in this area. Beginners will find less to suit them, but boarders will like the wide slopes and jumps dotted around.
Ski area :
If you ski Champoluc you are also in the ski region of Monterosa along with the following resorts; Champoluc
, Antagnod, Brusson, Gressoney Saint Jean and Gressoney la Trinité.
Off the slopes
A charming, unspoilt village, Champoluc nonetheless provides all the conveniences you would expect from a modern resort. It is a typical Italian resort, with good food and après-ski provided by a great selection of restaurants and bars. Whatever your taste you'll find something to suit you, and like most Italian resorts, the prices are very reasonable. Overall, a fun family resort for those looking for good skiing and an unspoilt town.
WE LIKE
- Ideal family resort as a specific area for beginners (Wold) 500m from the village
- Good ski schools and some great private instructors on hand
- Lots of lift linked skiing right into the Monterosa ski area and it's 180km of runs
|
WE DON'T LIKE
- Sometimes suffers from lack of early snow
- Very few challenging pistes close to home - but you have 180km of Monterosa to play on
- At peak periods (half term!) you have to wait a bit longer for lifts as gets very crowded
