On the slopes
Beginners will love to ski Vars - the whole area is accessible via green and blue slopes, and you can ski from Risoul to Vars (the two resorts share a common lift pass) entirely on blue pistes. For intermediates there are plenty of wide-open runs both above and below the tree-line, while expert skiers will find 11 black pistes and plenty of good off-piste terrain to explore. You can also check out the 160km/h World Cup speed-skiing track.
Ski area :
If you ski Vars you are also in the ski region of La Forêt Blanche along with the following resorts; Risoul, Vars
.
Off the slopes
This is a quiet resort, a good place to escape the crowds while enjoying some good skiing - the sun shines for over 300 days a year, perfect when you're on a tree-lined run. There is a reasonable selection of restaurants, although if it's lively nightlife you are after, you'll have to wait for the the weekend, when things pick up a bit.
