Where

Located at the Northern and Southern alp border, ski Valloire to be close to the Vanoisse and Ecrins National Park system. Plus, it is directly at the foot of the Col du Galiber, with one of Europe's highest passes on your doorstep. Best reached by a car hire since the nearest airport is 100kms away in Chambéry. The closest rail station is in St. Michel de Maurinne.

On the slopes

There are three slope areas that make up the 15km of pistes when you ski Valloire ski resort: Le Setaz, Le Crey, du Quart and Valmeinier with most altutitudes reaching well above 2,000m providing for excellent snow conditions during the season. The pistes are mostly large and gentle which provides for monoskiing, carving, and telemarking.

The trademark of the resort slopes is length as some runs reach past 1,000 vertical feet making it an excellent place for beginners to learn although more advanced and expert skiers may enjoy the trails at the Le Crey Rond. Many experts also enjoy hiring a private local guide to explore even more skiing options well off the beaten path. Snowboarders are also welcome to enjoy the Valloire ski resort along with many snow park options to fine tune the skill. There are also many nursery areas and ski schools for those who seek instruction during their holiday.

Off the slopes

Many people travel to ski Valloire and the resort because it has maintained a large degree of native rustic charm among the local villages. For those who want athletic activities off the slopes there is ice skating, fitness centers and bowling alleys as well. If you are looking more for après ski during your holiday the Valloire ski resort also offers plenty of nightclubs, pubs, discos, shops, and bars as well as plenty of restaurants that are cheap and showcase the local French cuisine.
