Have you had the chance to ski Chamonix Valley in France? If you're in the know when it comes to skiing, then the chances are you'll already know all about the Chamonix valley; if you're not, then here's the lowdown on an ski area that has a long standing reputation amongst skiers:
In the Chamonix Valley ski area there's skiing available around the pretty town of Chamonix itself, and in four other main areas: Les Houches, La Blame, Les Grand Montets, and Le Tour. In total this makes up some 500km of skiing. There are a high percentage of blue and red runs for the more experienced skier, with gentle green runs and some blacks also in the valley. But this region has one more thing, that other ski areas don't, the Vallée Blanche run, one of the most famous in the world, that attracts thousands of serious skiers every year.
There are a variety of lift passes available in the valley; some just cover the local area, while others offer some skiing on the famous Mont Blanc, or a day trip to the slopes of Courmayeur in Italy. Off-piste activities include ice hockey, bowling, shopping, and there are plenty of nightclubs, a casino, and large sports centre to keep you entertained. All this and more is just 1 hours transfer from Geneva airport, so why not ski here next season.
