When you ski Châtel has grown rapidly of late, the ski still has much to offer. As part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, this quiet, family friendly spot nonetheless offers access to 650km of slopes, including neighbouring areas such as Les Gets, Morzine, and Avoriaz. Access from airports and roads is straight-forward with Geneva around 90 minutes and Sion abtou 15 minutes closer.

Ski Châtel for lots of options to enjoy yourself whatever ability you are - the resort itself is served by a system of 41 lifts, with 49 runs of varied levels covering over 85kms, with a pretty even distribution between the different levels - 11 beginners, 16 intermediates, 16 advanced and 5 expert runs. In addition, you can easily access the massive 650km of the Portes du Soleil - with all it's off piste and terrain parks.

Off the slopes
A picturesque, traditional alpine resort, ski holidays in Châtel manage to retain their rustic charm despite its recent expansion into a major ski resort. There is a good range of accommodation, plus everything you need to make your vacation easy - banks, supermarkets, and childcare. Restaurants are plentiful, and though the nightlife is quieter than other resorts there are plenty of bars and restaurants keeping the candle burning late. Other activities include a bowling alley, a sports centre, and an ice-skating rink.
