Ski St Martin de Belleville and combine a beautiful, traditional savoyard mountain village with the awesome skiing and snowboarding of the Trois Vallées. Perfect for all abilities - especially powder nuts.

Where?

Ski St Martin de Belleville and you are based at the start of the Vallée des Belleville and you will be sharing the slopes of the massive Trois Vallées with nearby ski resorts of Courchevel, La Tania and Mèribel. The beautiful, traditional architecture can be seen in the numerous old stone and wood barns that have been converted into chalets. Access is via Chambéry, Lyon or Geneva and transfers are relatively simple - although around 2 hours.

On the slopes

Ultimately, ski St Martin de Belleville and you will always get plenty of options whatever your ability thanks to more than 160 pistes and over 600km of skiing and snowboarding in France's world famous ski region. In addition to the Trois Vallées ski area, the local slopes are good, with miles of rolling pastures and tree-skiing in fresh powder conditions.

If you want to explore further, the newly built gondola can quickly whisk you up to the Tougnette Ridge for runs down to Les Menuires, or over the far side towards Meribel. There's also a good ski school and facilities for children and beginners are well catered for.

Ski area

If you ski St Martin de Belleville you are also in the ski region of Les Trois Vallees.

Off the slopes

This charming, traditional ski resort village has attractive wooden ski chalets and a baroque church, and you can still buy local farmhouse cheese and fresh milk by the pail. There are a number of local restaurants serving both local and international food, while the après ski centres around the local bars. Away from the slopes you can try cross country skiing (there are 28kms of marked out pistes in the valley), walking trails, snow shoeing, and dog sledding. Nightlife is ok - but nothing to write home about - which is great for families or people wanting a quieter holiday.

WE LIKE

  • Some great runs close to home - especially for intermediate skiers and boarders.
  • The fast lift system gets you into the vast Trois Vallees quickly.
  • Traditional and charming mountain village in the 3 Vallées, cheaper and more relaxed than elsewhere in the area. like Courcheval or Meribel.

WE DON'T LIKE

  • The telecabin gets really busy in the morning rush and can delay your day by up to an hour.
  • Unfortunately the lower altitude does sometimes mean the snow conditions suffer.
  • Almost no party / nightlife in the resort. This is as relaxed as they get.
