Where
Started in 1977, ski Risoul and you get plenty of snow and a variety of terrain that covers almost 200km. This ski resort is linked to neighbouring Vars 1850 for a total of 174km of pistes, collectively called the Domaine de la Forêt Blanche ski area. There are good connections for air and road, with Nice and Turin being the closest airports.
On the slopes
Ideal for the beginner and intermediate skier or boarder, ski holidays in Risoul offer wide nursery slopes that are located in the ski resort village centre with other numerous easy runs close to the village. Intermediates will find plenty of sweeping tree lined blues and reds.
The location and altitude means some great off piste areas when the snow is falling. Advanced skiers should head to the Vars side of the mountain for challenging black runs and moguls, and good off piste around Risoul. Boarders, meanwhile, will enjoy one of France's largest board parks and of course the mass of good off piste areas.
