On the slopes

Ski Courchevel 1850 and it's all about the quality of skiing and snowboarding - and it's spectacular. Beginners are well catered for, and intermediates will find miles and miles of long cruising runs to keep them happy. Courchevel 1850 is also famous for its Couloirs, three ribbons of snow that snake between the rocks from the top station of the cable-car. Grand Couloir, Sous le Téléphérique and Emile Allais will test even the best skiers, especially when they are icy.

Ski area :

If you Ski Courchevel 1850 you are also in the ski region of Les Trois Vallees along with the following resorts; Brides Les Bains, Courchevel 1300 le Praz, Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650, Courchevel 1850, La Tania, Les Menuires, Meribel, Mottaret, St Martin de Belleville, Val Thorens .

Off the slopes

As the largest of the villages, Courchevel 1850 ski resort is focal point for the whole area. While it can be expensive, it offers a fantastic selection of hotels, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Many of the top places get very busy, so be sure make a reservation so you don't miss out. For live music and cocktails try Kaliko, or if you want something more relaxed Piggy's is a cosy bar. And if dancing is your thing, the Grange is highly recommended.

RESORT GOOD POINTS

  • Extensive, varied local terrain to suit everyone from beginners to experts ? plus the rest of the Three Valleys
  • Best off piste of all Courchevel resorts
  • Guaranteed snow - every year

RESORT BAD POINTS

  • Expensive and exclusive - but worth it in our opinion
  • Lifts can get busy especially at weekends and half terms
  • Long transfers from Geneva and Lyon airports
