On the slopes

Intermediates that ski Auron enjoy the conditions as do the Advanced skiers and boarders. This ski resort is in the Alpes Maritime ski region and offers some excellent challenges if you want them! There are 19 lifts in the ski area, servicing over 130km of piste. The resort sits at 1600m and the slopes run from there up to 2420m. The slopes are very quiet during the week, and with a good terrain park, snowboarders will also be happy - along with everyone that wants off-piste chalenges.

Ski area :

If you ski Auron you are also in the ski region of Alpes Maritime along with the following resorts; Auron, Isola 2000 .

Off the slopes

A reasonably quiet family-friendly resort, Auron is a genuine mountain village that offers accommodation and restaurants to suit all tastes. Off the slopes there is an ice skating rank, while with Nice just 90km away, you can escape to the beach on a sunny day! It's not the livliest ski resort in terms of après-ski, but there are some good bars when you come off the slopes.

WE LIKE

  • Lots of great runs for internediate and advanced skiers and boarders
  • There's two excellent beginners' areas to ensure learning can be taken at your own speed
  • A charming traditional alpine village there is a lot of heritage here!

WE DON'T LIKE

  • Gettgin here - from anywhere other than Nice airport is a long transfer
  • Despite altitude and North/North West slopes - this is not snowsure (Go to Isola for that)
  • Not got the nightlife of larger 'on the circuit' resorts, but is ok!
