This coming winter, why not ski Les Aravis in France in the Northern Alps, some parts of which have been home to winter sports since 1907. With an age old tradition of winter sports, it should come as no surprise that this region has been home to many champion skiers and snowboarders too.
The area of Les Aravis in France comprises the resorts of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand, Manigod and St Jean de Sixt, which between them have 220km of slopes. There are a small number of black runs for expert skiers, a large number of red/blue runs, and some gentle slopes for the less experienced. Along with downhill slopes, there are also a number of cross country trails at Confins and Beauregard, and two excellent snow parks.

The area is great for families, and there are dedicated events throughout the ski season just for children. These include a freestyle snowboard event at Le Grand Bornand, with the chance to meet professionals and try out jumps to a live DJ. This resort is also home to a stunning winter carnival, and there are always parties, shows, and concerts held throughout the rest of the region, along with the ski/snowboard competitions.
In terms of transfers, there are 3 airports within easy reach of Les Aravis. Geneva airport is about an hour away, with Lyon and Annecy-Meythet airports around 2 hours away. The Northern Alps are also linked well with train stations and the motorway. Travelling here couldn't be easier, and with cozy alpine villages, a host of après ski facilities, and winter sports that cater for all, it's a great place to spend your next ski holiday.
