On the slopes
With 29 slopes there really is something for everyone in the bright Ruka ski resort. The ski tracks total to reach across 519.5km and 600km of skidoo routes to create an enjoyable trip for everyone. The highest peak provides some long slopes along with 1300m runs. 20 ski lifts allow skiers to navigate the mountains easily and night illumination allows the trails to stay open until 11pm on Fridays which is one of the latest ski openings across Finland.
Moguls on a few expert trails are also present at Ruka for those who want to challenge themselves on the trails as well as moguls that can be used to train on. A super pipe trail is often available for those who like to ski within the confines of a well marked trail.
Off the slopes
If you can tear yourself off the slopes for a minute you may never get back due to the wide range of activities that surround the Ruka ski resort area. For sports enthusiasts the snowmobile excursions, snowgolf, and Snowshoeing may appeal. On the other hand, for those who want to see the full scenic value of the area winter driving, fishing, and the Northern lights may appeal as well as a bath in the outdoor thermal springs that allow you to soak under the falling snow.
Additionally, for families the winter activities, reindeer safaris, dog-sled safaris, and Kumpare Kindgarden may appeal. There are also a wide variety of shops and restaurants that will make your stay enjoyable and full.
