How Many Resorts Are There?

There are many choices of resorts in Chile, spread evenly along the great expanse of the Andes. The best served ones sit in the area classed as the central zone; Portillo, La Parva, Valle Nevado, Termas de Chillan and El Colorado/Farellones. These resorts all maintain their own runs, have ski classes and equipment hire. Valle Nevado, El Colorado and Portillo also have their own snow making machines should the fall be less than expected.

Staying In Chile

If you choose to stay in Portillo you are entering a very elite club. The Portillo Hotel accommodates 450 guests in consummate luxury, and these guests have exclusive access to the slopes in the resort. This is the last word in winter luxury and a stay here is truly a trip of a lifetime. Elsewhere, you will find various hotels, all of a very high standard to suit most budgets.

Getting Here

The best thing to do is to fly into Santiago. 2 hours from the airport is Portillo ski resort and an even shorter distance are the ski resorts of Farellones, Colorado, La Parva and Valle Nevado.
