If you choose to ski Kicking Horse you can enjoy Canada's newest resort. With great snow and dry powder you get some incredibly varied terrain on and off-piste. There are 64 runs, and a mountain top restaurant at 2,310m. This is a family friendly resort, where children under seven can ski for free. Access is via Calgary airport and relatively stree free as transfers go.

On the slopes
If you ski Kicking Horsem then intermediate and advanced sliders will get the most out of all the runs. This is a great ski resort in which to learn as it has some excellent beginner terrain. A good percentage of the 64 slopes are intermediate, with some great long runs - the longest is 10k! The lifts can transport 14,000 people, keeping the lines short. And when lunchtime comes, be sure to try the Eagle's Eye restaurant, Canada's highest at 2,310m. A great way to undertake skiing and snowboarding in Canada.
Off the slopes
Accommodation in Kicking Horse includes townhouses and a lodge with ski-in/ski-out accessibility, and several bed-and-breakfasts, chalets, hotels and motels nearby. Most of the après-ski is in the town of Golden, and other activities in the area include telemark skiing, snowshoeing, ice-climbing and flight-sightseeing. The world's largest enclosed grizzly bear refuge is also close by. Other nearby resorts include Panorama Mountain ski resort, and Lake Louise just over an hour's drive to the east.
