On the slopes
Ski Wagrain for perfect beginner and intermediate slopes with great runs across rolling pastures and picturesque woodland. Children will also be happy, with the Kids-Ski-World providing a great introductory experience. Modern cable cars and chair lifts make exploring the diverse trails of Ski amadé easy, and allow more advanced skiers to seek out the one and off piste challenges they enjoy - this is where the legendary Hermann Maier learned to ski.
Ski area :
If you ski Wagrain you are also in the ski region of Ski Amadé along with the following resorts; Alpendorf, Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Flachau, Maria Alm, Ramsau am Dachstein, Schladming, Sportgastein, St Johann im Pongau, Wagrain
.
Off the slopes
Après ski in the resort is good and you'll find a great selection of restaurants to entice you, whether you want to try local dishes or stick to the familiar choices like pizza. The nightlife is limited, however, with only two clubs locally. Away from the slopes you can enjoy the sauna, an ice rink, paragliding, or some lovely walking trails, while nearby Filzmoos is the hot-air balloon capital of the Austrian Alps, and was a traditional winter escape for early 20th century Viennese aristocracy.
