The Stubai Superski area is a collection of typical Tyrolean villages, all with their own ski areas and lift facilties, and access by shuttle bus to the Stubai Glacier. Whilst not the largest ski area, it is a snowsure option thanks to the Glacier.
As part of the Stubai Superski, the glacier is snow assured early on in the season, and it offers a large area of skiing for beginners and intermediates. In Gamsgarten there's an excellent facility for child learners, while the modern lift system takes more experienced/older skiers up into the mountains, where they will find a few steep black runs.
The surrounding villages that make up the Stubai Superski ski region are where most people choose to stay when visiting, particularly the lively resort of Neustift. The ski area around this quiet village is relatively uncrowded, with a variety of red runs into the valley, where the leisure centre, a small number of bars and discos, and hotel restaurants form the après ski scene. In the village of Fulpmes, there's access to 68 km of cross country trails, tree lined runs and a snow park in 'Schlick 2000', plus a famous black run, the 1,500m drop of the 'Wilden Grub'n'. Nearby Telfes also has a small number of ski runs.
Ski passes offer access to the whole of the Stubai Superski area, with discounts on some leisure facilities as well. Alpine trains or bus services can also transport you to Innsbruck and its many attractions.
