On the slopes

The St. Wolfgang ski resort is one of the smallest in Austria with 10km of pistes that make up 18 slopes which are accessible via nine ski lifts. However, there is an altitude of 1200m at the top of the Postalm plateau which creates some stunning views while gliding down the slopes.

When you ski St. Wolfgang most of the trails and pistes are designed for beginners, which makes it excellent for a gentle ski holiday and for families. For those looking for more of a thrill during their stay, the slopes of the Gosau are reachable via a shuttle bus approximately 15 minutes away. Snowboarders are of course welcome, although most slopes are gentle so expert snowboarders may not be satisfied on the simple wide slopes.

Off the slopes

The St. Wolfgang ski resort comes alive off the slopes, with the historical sights of the centre old village that is full of cultural activities. With operetta at night and a magical Advent period this is a favourite tourist location during the Christmas holidays. For those looking for après ski activities there's plenty on offer despite its small size with restaurants, discothèques, concerts, and many local bars and pubs. The nearby Thermal Baths in Bad Ischl appeal to many visitors as well as many outdoor activities that include but are not limited to hot air balloon rides, curling, ice skating, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, hiking, and tobogganing.
