Ski St. Christoph am Arlberg for an alternative to the busy noisy ski resort of St. Anton. With plenty of skiing and snowboarding and an authentic Austrian ski holiday, head to this resort in the Arlberg region this winter.
Where
If you ski St. Christoph you get an upmarket village in the Alberg valley, close to St. Anton. This makes it one of the top choices for those who want a quieter location but have access to the great St. Anton trails and après-ski. Accessible from the Basel, Friedrichshafen or, most commonly, Innsbruck Airport, ski transfers are relatively straight-forward.

On the slopes
One of the perks of staying at the St. Christoph ski resort is that the slopes are all located at high altitudes guaranteeing that the area is constantly buried in natural snow cover. Directly above the tree line, the trails near the top of the mountain are primarily for beginners with wide open slow gentle slopes. This area also boosts a small learner's area with plenty of ski instructors on hand to help you perfect your skiing style.
If you ski St. Christoph you'll find that lower down below the resort, there's a wide array of advanced terrains perfect for advanced skiers and extreme expert skiers as well as snowboarders. The modern lifts make it easy to navigate the resort slopes and link the immediate ski area with the slopes of St. Anton. There are also many great opportunities for experts off piste with the aid of a local guide although the snow cover is not always as manageable or groomed.
Ski area :
If you ski St Christoph am Arlberg you are also in the ski region of Arlberg along with the following resorts; Lech, St Anton, St Christoph, Stuben, Zurs
.
Off the slopes
Outside of the hotels in St. Christoph, there is not a very lively après ski scene, although there are some authentic Austrian restaurants and plenty of local pubs to visit. The local shops provide for an authentic Austrian experience however and there are outdoor alternative activities such as snow-shoeing, guided walking tours, and ice skating. Since St. Anton is just down the road however, for those who want occasional après ski the commute is reasonable and many people head down the road when the need to party arises.
